we visited Onsen when we were in new Zealand in December. it was one of the best experiences of our holiday! there are 6 individual rooms that look out over the mountain side and down to the shotover River. Tried this out over Easter and had a great soak. Was collected right on time from The Station in Queenstown and taken to the Onsen which overlooks the Shotover River. Everyone was helpful and friendly, the onsen is beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean. I had a wonderful soak with the roof open and enjoyed watching the beautiful scenery. Would highly... more

Wow, did I enjoy that. If you're a long lazy hot bath person (or even if you're not) then this is the definitive experience for you. A more sublimely relaxing dip you couldn't wish to take. Onsen Hot pools in Queenstown is one lovely spot.We had one hour of luxurious time soaking in the hot tub. The complex is brand new and very clean and tidy, the hot pools themselves are a wooden tub in your own room.You get the tub and shower changing area and book in increments of one hour. These pools opened in August 07 and do not seem to be very well known or promoted. We saw an ad in one of the local guide books.
