We done this at sunset and the esb at night...Rockefellar center was much better in terms of the observation decks as they were much wider and quiter and the queues as there were none! The rockefellar center gave views just as good as the esb and you got an awesome view of it (esb) from the top of the rock....... more
Went to take the studio tour. All information we had said only large groups needed to make reservations or buy in advance. Once there the next available tour was going to be 3 days later. We headed to Rockefeller Center to ice skate and arrived about ten minutes before the next skate time. Super. Unfortunately there were no directions and the ticket sales, skate rentals, and lockers were all in a room smaller than our hotel room. I took the tour on Friday, 11/16/2007 AT 1:00 P.M The tour guide was excellent. She was very knowledgeable about NYC. Answered questions, gave out additional info about NYC and "Must See" attractions. I am a New Yorker and thoroughly enjoyed the tour. It was excellent. more
We arrived at Rockefeller Center just in time for the 4:30 - 6:00 session on a Sunday. Be sure to check the Holiday Schedule on their website, as the times are different than their normal hours. There were tons of people everywhere, and we had to ask where to get tickets to ice skate, as there were no visible signs.... more
Lots to do here, Restaurants, shopping, Top of the rock, Ice skating(not all year). We had Starbucks here a couple of times and watched what was going on on the ice rink, we were going to skate, but a charity event was going on called key to the cure, some celebrity's were there. You will not want to leave the Top of the Rock after you see the views. The whole time you are there, you become inspired from seeing The Empire State Bldg and the Chrylser Bldg that you forget you have to return home.
