I stayed here one night on business in May 2008. The location is extremely convenient as the hotel is in the heart of the business district. However, I would not stay here again. While some called the hotel charming, I disagree. It is a little older and felt quite dated. Unfortunately, my room had a strong lingering odour from the... more

Oh my gosh... what a terrible, dingy place this is. Located in the heart of downtown I still can't beleive such a property exists in Down town Victoria. The carpet stinks / Beds Stink / Dirty Bathroom / Water supply makes noise. Worst of all the whole place stinks huh!!. Besides this, no Parking you will be asked to part... more

This was probably our third stay at this property and we were in Victoria only because the timing of the Tall Ships Festival fit in with our plans which were changed only a month prior. The location is superb, on Government Street (the heart of the shopping) and only about 3 blocks from the Empress Hotel and 2 blocks from... more

the only thing I liked about this hotel was the location. our stay there was one problem after another. they lost our reservations and charged us a higher rate for a lower quality room. they didn't have a manager working on a long weekend. they didn't warn us that there was construction in the hotel and there was no hot... more

We're cheap. We've stayed at Mrs. Goodfellow's BnB; at a cheap motel further north on Douglas for eye surgery; and at Swan's. So the Bedford was "above average." And we roller blade hard during the day and sleep deep. I don't remember hearing a band at all. It was a nice room, good bed, comfortable place to hang out and... more

We were met by a very polite young lady at check in. The lobby was sparse but that was of no concern. They were refurbishing. We were in our warm, clean room within 3 minutes of our arrival on a freezing afternoon after a long trip. There is a pub downstairs which was always very busy - so we avoided... more

With an event to attend and our summer holiday budget already taxed, my husband and I sought an economical alternative to our usual Victoria hotels. A friend recommended the Bedford Regency. We booked online and received a rate that was less than half of what virtually all other hotels in the area were charging at the end of high season.... more

Great location downtown Victoria across from the Bay Mall. Clean, older establishment. Comfortable beds, room was fairly small. There is an Irish Pub next door and there was significant party noise up until 3am each night. My biggest complaint is the sharp edges on the bed posts. Each of us bumped into the foot bed posts and received bad bruises... more

This place was shocking. Noisy, very, very noisy (as others have mentioned the music coming through the floors ALL night). Parking miles away. No privacy if you happen to be located in a room by the windows facing straight into another room opposite. To top it off they were in the process of renovating (no warning about this when the... more

My spouse and I have stayed at the Bedford Regency many times in the past, but after this last visit we will never go back. We've always been OK with the quirky nature of the hotel - the dated '80's decor, noisy plumbing, the incompetent staff, parking two blocks away for an extra $10 a day - because we felt... more
