Quebec City is a very special place. The Hi Hostel is in the centre of the old city which is right where you want to be! It has bright airy, extremely clean rooms, good breakfast facilities, reasonably priced internet and friendly helpful staff. My sister and I, 55+yrs loved it and would gladly recommend it to other travellers. We did... more

I attended a conference in Quebec City but didn't want to spend $200 per night at a conference hotel. Hadn't stayed in a youth hostel for close to 30 years. Staying at a hostel isn't easy if you are used to hotels, private bathrooms, elevators, large closets, etc. But if you don't mind an adventure the hostel is the way... more

I've stayed in plenty of hostels and this is one of the better ones. A beautiful old building in the heart of Old Quebec City this place is a dream come true to backpackers, singles, and families a like. Do not be concerned about staying with "rowdy backpackers". We had a private room with shared facilities and this was good.... more

Stayed there Sept 1-2, 2008 with my boyfriend. Private room, shared bath. Our private room was a bunk bed, small table, armchair, and fan. Ok size. There was a unisex bathroom down the hall and a same-sex shower/bathroom around the corner. We looked around at other area accomodations but couldn't find anything good in our price range. We paid about... more

My husband, teenage son and I stayed at the hostel for one night during our recent trip to Quebec City. We wanted something affordable and I thought it would be fun for our son to have the hostel experience. I haven't stayed in a hostel in over 20 years since I backpacked Europe. We booked a family room for $85... more

My girlfriend and I only stayed here for one night, as we had a bed and breakfast lined up for the other nights of our stay in Quebec, but they were fully booked the first night we arrived. The hostel is well located, inside the old walls of the city, though almost everywhere in Quebec is walkable truth be told.... more

I've been there in December 2007 for 2 nights-3 days for Boxing Day, in a dormitory with a friend. What i really appreciated is the perfect location, it can't be closer to the old Quebec, just a few minutes walk to the wall surrounding the city. Rue St Jean is a great place to find some cute restaurant, libraries, and... more

Hostelling International's Quebec City Hostel is by far the nicest hostel I've ever stayed at. It's rated three stars, and it holds itself to high standards. Price-wise it's among the best you'll find in the entire city, especially during events like Carnival. I recommend the rooms in the newer wing, which is connected by footbridges, though I think that only... more

This is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. They were friendly, helpful, and constantly cleaning the place. The location is perfect. It is in the middle of Vieux Quebec, and close to city bus stops if you want to go to other parts of the city. It is an easy walk from the bus terminal and train... more

This was my favourite hostel that I stayed in in Canada. I stayed in an all-female dorm - the room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and you had a large locker for storing valuables (make sure you bring your own padlock along). Each bed also had its own nightlight (and small shelf) so you could stay awake (and see)... more
