Do not stay at this hotel if you are wanting a romantic getaway, or if you are older and you like your hotels plush or if you like to be waited on hand and foot. However, if you want a hotel thats clean, comfortable and does exactly what it says on the tin (i.e. you get to sleep!) this is... more

I've never been to a hotel quite like this before. Left me feeling like it was quite a surreal experience! It is an old government building which has been revamped into a very modern hotel. It lacks character and charm but the rooms are really quite lovely and comfortable if you like the modern feel, think Ikea! There is not... more

We arrived late after noon The hotel was quiet difficult to find even having a map,it was down a little back lane, being on a motor bike did help. We were able to park in the under ground car park great security for the bike, Check in was efficient The room was a bit plastic but the bed comfortable and clean,... more

Hmm. Funky? No, just a bit sad looking. Pink formica and cut out letters. It was like someone had decided to be cool, but didn't know how to pull it off. Soulless, and cold is how I think of it. And after a year the cheap fittings are suffering, although the bathroom was OK, with nice plain tiles. Still, felt... more

My wife and I stayed just a single weekend night in The Big Sleep - thankfully. It is promoted as a "Budget Hotel", but at £85 per night, I expect something a bit more up-market than Travellodge, especially when booked 10 weeks in advance. A 3 star hotel this is not ! The location is good, being just a few... more

We stayed at the big sleep for two nights after I won two nights accommodation in a competition. We found it very clean and the staff helpful. The bedroom was well appointed with a flat screen TV and nice comfy bed. The curtains are a bit odd all sort of blue fur. The dining area is rather colourful, but as... more

We booked this hotel as it was cheap & centrally located having lived in Cheltenham before I knew that finding a cheap hotel in the centre would be difficult. We were pleasantly surprised with the hotel, the room & hotel was extremely clean & fresh looking the bed was comfortable & had a duvet rather than the mountains of sheets.... more

I've stayed here a few times along with colleagues. I think all agree this hotel is different but that doesn't mean its to everyones taste. Rooms and Decor are funky and comfortable but the penalty for such a finish is that some fixtures and fittings are already starting show signs of wear and tear. Soundproofing is also poor and any... more

Before I start I think it needs to be made clear that the Bigsleep is a budget hotel, although the price that you pay doesn't really refer to that. I paid £85 per night (and stayed for three nights) which personally I dont think is that cheap. Anyway, here's my review: Positives: - The rooms and the hotel are very... more

I was looking for a last minute cheap hotel in Cheltenham to meet up with a friend. I have seen the Big Sleep Hotel in Cardiff and heard really good comments about it. I saw they had opened a property and thought I would pay that little extra over a Travelodge. My double room cost £85. The hotel website was... more
