We booked this hotel after researching Rick Steves and TripAdvisor. The hotel was what we expected, no more or less. The room we stayed in was the family suite with two rooms connected by one bathroom. It cost 280 euros per night, cash. While this seemed expensive, I can't be sure how it compares to other hotels in the area.... more

I stayed in the Hotel Al Piave for two nights in May. It was a great hotel and I would stay there again in the future. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was very nice. The room was quite big and even had a little flower-cover patio. The bathroom was large and modern as... more

Al Piave was recommended by Rick Steve's so I started communicating with the owners by email. They had a "triple" which was one large bedroom with a queen-size bed & sofa attached to a room with a single bed (plenty of room & privacy for our 19-year old son) connected with a bathroom/shower. The rooms were immaculate, beds were very... more

My daughter and I stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel is not easy to find-especially if you're dragging luggage. We would have been better off if we'd taken a private water taxi directly there; however, the prices were prohibitively expensive. The ladies at the front desk were nice, but certainly weren't warm and never went out of their way... more

We stayed here for 3 nights in mid-April and were thoroughly pleased. I'm a bit of a paranoid traveler and read the TripAdvisor reviews religiously before booking a hotel. This place seemed to be in a great location and had good reviews so I decided to book it. Prior to our arrival I emailed the hotel and they were very... more

Al Piave is a small and charming Venetian-style hotel in the less touristy district of Castello. My husband and I enjoyed six happy days here. Although it’s the most expensive hotel we’ve ever stayed in, it is fairly priced in a city of exorbitant prices. Our room, a standard double, was spacious enough for us, comfortable, well decorated, and most... more

Stayed here for three nights during Carnival '08. Ultra clean - everything sparkles! Room a little small but well appointed with good sized and fully equipped bathroom. Very comfy bed. Breakfast, whilst not huge, was very good. Well positioned within 5-10 minute walk of St Marco or Rialto but a quiet little backwater - even during Carnival. Only criticism would... more

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Piave in the fall of 2006. When I decided to return to Venice with four friends in the early November 2007, I returned to the Piave. I was now familiar with the location and knew that the staff was pleasant and helpful. We ended up with one "family suite" and an adjoining... more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights after New Year. To be honest we didnt speend mcuh time there but it was fine. We had no probs and it was very cosy. The decor is very dated and breakfast didnt offer many options but apart from that it was fine. We didnt find it particularly easy... more

I enjoyed this hotel. The air conditioning saved me during an unexpected heat wave. The staff is friendly and their breakfasts are great. The location is nice and quiet off a small street. The room were of a good size; the bathroom was average but clean. Quaint decor and views. No elevator - we had to trudge our baggage up... more
