We had a five day visit to Marrakech in May. A vibrant, colourful and edgy city, not for the faint hearted and not to be missed. All the more reason to get the accommodation right and El Zohar gets it right. It's a cool and tranquil shelter from the madding crowd. Nothing is too much trouble for the friendly staff... more

We stayed in El Zohar on our first trip to Morocco last October and enjoyed it so much that we booked direct for our second visit. It is very conveniently placed in the Medina. The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We were very fortunate to meet the new owners as we checked in! They are very excited to acquire... more

We rented out the whole of El Zohar for a 50th birthday celebration. The manager and team made us feel totally at home and keenly supplied us with delicious and plentiful breakfasts and a celebratory meal that went on and on. The Riad is so close to the action - within minutes you are in the Main Place - the... more

You would never find this Riad by yourself but if you pre book a taxi through the Riad or take one from the airport a porter will take you and your bags to the Riad down the windy narrow alleys that go through the Souk The walk from the Riad to the square is easy and it takes about 5... more

Although I would agree with other reviewers that the staff were excellent and helpful, I thought that our stay in Riad el Zohar was very disappointing and overpriced compared with the two other Riads that we stayed in in Morocco. To begin with, the breakfast was very poor compared to what I'd become accustomed to in the other, cheaper Riads.... more

We were booked into El Zohar by the owner of Riad L'Orangeraie who had also booked us into Riad Madada in Essaouira and arranged all of the transport through Ali Gerant's taxi business - Targui Transport. You are highly unlikely to find this Riad without a local guide. It is hidden inside the Souq, down a series of passageways -... more

We were part of a large party that saw in the New Year at the El Zohar and the whole experience was overwhelming. It appeared that nothing was too much trouble for the manager and his team. There seems to be nothing he cannot organise. And if it all goes wrong (travel sickness e.g.), he helps to sort it all... more

We booked the whole Riad with a group of friends to celebrate New Year and a 40th Birthday, the manager also arranged another Riad to fit all 22 of us. Once you get over the shock of walking through the local streets and dark allyways to find the Riad, (transfer arranged by the manager) you walk through an ornate wooden... more

This was our first trip to Morocco and we were a little hesitant in the quality of the hotel (Riad) in which we would be staying. Our fears were magnified as we arrived late at night into the noise and confusion of Marrakech. We were led down little alleys by our taxi driver to what was basically a door in... more
