Visiting the fabled Serringetti admitedly brings a certain level of expectation... Our Safari outfitter (Multichoice Safaris of Arusha) had booked entirely with Hotels & Lodges Limited, who owns this property. Awful rooms with broken sanitation (not mended for years), the worse food I got for a long time - it is just a rip-off for tourists. You are not allowed to go to the rubbish-pit, but it is worth trying it. They throw everything away there, you can see animals (monkeys and others) with deep wounds, because they cut themselves... more

You don't want to stay there. Enough other options available in the Serengeti. It needs maintenance, furniture replacement, better cooks, better service and all the rest.
