Very very small room but very clean and an excellent location for a trip to Tokyo. We didn't want to spend more than $200 per night and, if you're in the same boat, stay here. Nice english-speaking staff was very helpful. more

An amazing honeymoonVery very small room but very clean and an excellent location for a trip to Tokyo. We didn't want to spend more than $200 per night and, if you're in the same boat, stay here. Nice english-speaking staff was very helpful. more
I booked this room on Rooomstogo.com, so I got a great price. Even paying the "normal" tarif, I will still stay here. The boutique-style, Japanese hotel is in a faux-Deco style building in the Ginza. Very near to several main subway stops, with the closest entry a block away. Good area restaurants and, of course, shopping. I checked OUT of... more
This hotel is right in the heart of Ginza area. II took the JR line to Tokyo station and then took a taxi to the hotel. If you are travelling to this hotel for the first time and not familier with the Japan Subway system, then I would recommend the same. Once I got to the hotel and got a... more
I booked a double room at the Monterey Ginza because it was included in a vacation deal, without really knowing what I was going to find. Me and my husband enjoyed an amazing time there from the moment we arrived. The service was great, with a very polite and helpful staff, although a little Japanese knowledge is useful since their... more
A gem of a hotel right in the centre of Tokyo.Small reception area staff very friendly polite and helpful.Subway station seconds walk Tokyo main railway station 10mins walk and Ginza shopping area 2mins walk. Rooms small well appointed and air conditioned (this is important in Tokyo ) bed was a bit neat for a european frame but comfortable nevertheless hotel... more
Monterey Hotels in Japan are known for European style and reasonable cost. I've stayed at the Monterey in Sapporo and in Sendai (both great experiences) and the Ginza Monterey simple doesn't compare. Rooms are small and business-hotel-like (in the cramped Japanese sense) and I had a double. Dull best describes the room. I reserved non-smoking and got a smoking room.... more
I would recommend this hotel to family and friends. It's central location makes it a gem, not to mention the reasonable price. From the Ginza Itchome metro, take exit 11 and turn right. It's just two short blocks from there (1 minute walk). Hotel staff were hospitable and helpful. As per other reviews, don't take the breakfast; it's not worth... more
Great boutique hotel with atmosphere and location. Just off the Ginza and within walking distance to metro and JR line. Deco is 1930's touches throughout. Rooms are well appointed, quiet and with small modern bathroom. Excellent service. more
The great value and location were what made this hotel. In a quiet street just off the Ginza and literally meters to the subway or within a five minute walk to a major station (saves more time-consuming changing), this hotel had good local shops nearby and it was very easy to get taxis. It's not flash, but neither is it... more
The Hotel Monterey has a great location, right in the middle of Ginza. It is very reasonably priced, and has free in-room internet access. The rooms are rather small and pokey. The staff were nice and friendly, and I had no problems during the week of my stay. However, I didn't really like the place, and was glad to leave.... more
