My two daughters (ages 20 & 21) and myself took a weekend get-away to Reno in late July of 2008. We obtained fabulous room rates through Hotels.com. This hotel used to be the MGM Grand and then the Hilton. It's not on the "strip" in Reno, but it sits by itself a distance away from the downtown action on Virginia... more

Stay was August 3rd to August 5th, 2008. Event: Hot August Nights. We have stayed here many times in the past but always in the old rooms of this large hotel. I don't recommend them. This time we stayed in a Summit Room which was excellent. Complete with comfortable beds, AC that worked, microwave and refrigerator, and a nice bathroom... more

This is the best Hotel/Casino in Reno/Sparks. Great staff, I am there once a week and the staff is remembering me. The rooms at the Summit are the best in town. I search through out Reno because I am there for work every week. Charlie Palmers has a has a great lounge menu. Good bar scene, the dealers are kind... more

Since I had no experience staying in Reno, I researched every avenue to try to make the stay as pleasant as possible. Whiie looking at websites, they all pretty much looked the same, so I asked friends. The deciding factor was cigarette smoke. The hotel rooms that were reported to be least smoky were at the Grand Sierra. Location: great,... more

For my love's birthday, and to go watch golf, we booked the Summit at Grand Sierra. The large room was equipped with fridge, microwave, desk, couch, and flatscreen. The bathroom featured large shower, one sink and another TV. The positives: Comfortable bed, nice couch, great view, friendly helpful staff, big flatscreen. Big roomy shower with rainshower head. Hotel is not... more

My stay at The Summit at Grand Sierra Resort in Reno was great. I booked my stay through BookIt.com and got a Grand II suite for about $60/night. Although the room was dark in design think "Man Cave" but that really didn't matter to me as I was not in Reno to hide in my room, I was there on... more

After staying in budget hotels along I-80 we decided to stay in a more luxurious place in Reno. Looking at prices and online reviews we decided to go with The Summit at Grand Sierra. It did not disappoint. Our room was large with great views of Reno and the Sierras. The king sized bed was super comfy. The main flat... more

Stayed at the RV Park attached to the Grand Sierra in July 2008. Staff was exceptionally good; spaces were well-maintained; nice to have all of the amenities of a casino resort at an RV park. Huge casino and multiple restaurant and shopping options. Lots to do for kids at this casino- bowling, go-karts, nice pool, arcade. Not close to other... more

I looked at the resort's website prior to my arrival and it looked beautiful! I booked a 5 night stay and was very excited. It looked like an upscale resort. The difficulty began when I walked into the room. If you are staying in a room that has not been newly remodeled you can forget feeling like you are staying... more

First off, don't ask for a change in your bed preference at check-in or you'll get the room from "hell". Being an IPerfer member here has no merit whatsoever. Everything was going fine until the lady checking us in asked if the king room would be ok and my grandson said he would like a real bed instead of a... more
