Have just returned from a week at the Rui and wished I'd booked two. This Hotel definatley has the 'wow' factor, nothing is to much trouble for the staff and the food is excellent with every taste catered for. Will definitely return. more

We moved into the Riu Palace after a less than happy stay at the Oasis Atlantic next door. The staff here couldn't have been more helpful , we were allocated a lovely room with sea view , asked if we were happy with that particular room and the checkin was extremely easy . The hotel itself is spotlessly clean ,... more

There is not a lot to do in the immediate area apart from walking around and... more

I have just enjoyed a two week stay at the Riu Palace. The service was excellent, with nothing being too much trouble. I was very pleased with our room, which I thought was spacious - two big double wardrobes with plenty coathangers so I could hang everything up and plenty of drawer space. The rooms were nicely decorated and even... more

Having stayed in the West of Funchal before, I chose the Riu Palace for our week's holiday (end of July into August) due to it's location to the East of the town, and because of the positive ratings on this site. However, I have to say that I was disappointed. Maybe I was expecting too much after such positive reviews.... more

The food was good if not brilliant as sometimes decribed and the atmosphere in the restaurant very... more

Having read all of the reviews on this website I was expecting the RIU Palace to be a 5 Star Palace in a quiet part of Madeira. However, once you look past the fancy lobby and the more than cheerful staff, the hotel itself is quite ordinary. The rooms are quite small and to be fair a little tired. The... more
