Sol is a really great hotel. Not a 4/5* but that is because it is in Cuba - and not Europe. You should realise that you are not going to get 5* for such cheap prices! This hotel was slightly run down, hence the refurb but nothing wrong with it at all. In fact I am quite shocked but all... more

My time at the Sol Cayo Coco was wonderful, the staff were fantastic and the friends I have met will remain so. I can understand why some people complain about the decor as the hotel is looking a little tired but it is closing in the Spring for a full refurb. However, it is the staff not the property that... more

One of the pitfalls of booking during hurricane season is that there might be a hurricane, but although we were kept in the restaurant for 11 hours, we were treated like royalty. I cannot fault the manager (who was great, even if slightly panicked). Our Thomas Cook reps Mabel & Maria were there throughout and the staff, Hendry and Jimmy... more
