I think most of the crappy reviews were written before this hotel was given a complete renovation in December 2007. First, the hotel staff was nothing but wonderful and friendly, and helpful. The place looks new, with all the renovations done. The room was great with granite countertop in bathroom, wall in shower, and counter in walkway (coffee pot area).... more

We were visiting Johns Hopkins University and needed a place to stay. The university directed us to the Colonnade; I called and was given a room on the spot at the university guest rate. For the convenience, the rate was excellent. To avoid the hotel parking fee, we left our car in the university parking garage and schlepped our luggage... more

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to Johns Hopkins University. In that regard, the location is excellent -- across the street from the campus. However, the stay was not excellent. For the premium prices charged, this property should have a high level of customer service and quality settings. There were so many issues that we will thoroughly check out... more

Spent one night at the hotel. Had an issue with a fire alarm at about 10:30pm and was out of room until 11:15pm. Alarm also went of at 8:30 am in the morning for a reset. Needless to say did not get a good night sleep and was disappointed that the staff did not apologize and during the alarm/fire drill... more

First impressions is definitely a lasting impression. The lobby is breath taking. During check in there were several other people checking in, there were two front desk clerks at the time of my check in, then from out of the back office two other people came out to help the two clerks. They were very helpful with getting us checked... more

I'm guessing we had a renovated room, because we did not have the problems that I read in the other reviews here. We thought the lobby was very fancy. Our room was small (even though it was called a "large room"), but it was very nice. It had nice comfy beds, and was definitely newly painted. The room itself was... more

It took me 9 months to write this review. I stayed at this crappy hotel in January, 2007 because I was taking classes at Hopkins. The lobby belies what the guest rooms truly are. I thought I was at Motel 8 when I first walked into the first room I was assigned to. It was dark, grungy, and the bathroom... more

I was misled by a nicely appointed entrance and front desk area, but once I stepped off the elevator onto my floor, it all went downhill- total, disgusting disaster! I had to walk through long unkempt (dirty, messed up carpets and walls) hallways- half the hotel was undergoing renovations and these areas were open to the public rather than partitioned... more

Recent stay at this hotel was very disappointing. The hotel is rundown, and should not be accepting guests. Renovation is going on, and the property should be closed during this time. At the very least, Hilton should state the condition of this property for those considering making reservations. The room was dingy, worn and had a damp, moldy smell. The... more

I stayed at the Colonnade with my family because my brother was graduating from JHU. For our purposes, it was nice because it was so convenient to the campus, but it was way, way overpriced during graduation week, and the rooms weren't even that large and/or that nice. My card key malfunctioned pretty much every time I tried to use... more
