After months of going through web sites, we decided on staying at the Chateau Motor Hotel. It is in the French Quarter on the corner of Decatur St. & Chartres St. I do not understand why they use the "MOTOR" in the title because that makes you think of some less desirable place to stay. Maybe because there is another... more

My husband & I along with another couple stayed here last weekend. We had rooms 240 & 241 that share a semi-private courtyard. The rooms also connected on the inside. The 240 room is a little smaller. We were in 241. It has a nice size foyer & sitting area. The room is a nice size with a very comfortable... more

After having already made reservations at this hotel a few months in advance, I decided to take a look at the reviews on tripadvisor. I wasn't thrilled to see such extreme reviews - either really negative or really good. After staying there for 2 nights, now I know why. Night 1: We checked in with our friends and were given... more

A friend and I decided to have a girls-only weekend away to celebrate our birthdays. We did a little research on where to stay -- our priorities were a place we'd feel safe, a place that wouldn't cost a fortune, and a place with parking. Although we paid more for the room than we had hoped, this hotel seemed to... more

I've stayed at the hotel numerous times but this was my first time since the storm. The staff esp. Wendall the bell boy/chef. He always goes above and beyond for us.The entire staff is VERY helpful and I love them all. Our room was exactly what I wanted. The room was clean and comfy. As far as roaches go I've never seen... more

We picked this hotel based on the pictures on the internet and the price point. The room we received was nothing like the picture. Very tiny! We feel we did not get much for $180 per night. We also had a bad experience regarding the housekeeping staff. I left my wedding ring on the bathroom counter which I realized as... more

We have stayed here quite a few time over the years and absolutely enjoy seeing the same faces when we arrive. Wendell is incredible, he seems to do almost everything in and around the hotel. Everyone pitches in, as it is a small family establishment. This is the perfect little boutique hotel situated in the residental area of the French... more

Just got back last night from a weekend stay at the Chateau. Bobby at the front desk does look a bit gruff, but I think he's just misunderstood :-) Once engaged in conversation, he is very helpful. The only bellman is really a jack of all trades... he's moving bags, hailing cabs, serving the coffe and danish, taking people to... more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for two nights in early-March of 2007. I was eight months pregnant and it was our last chance to travel for a while so we thought we would get away to New Orleans for the weekend. I have family there so we go several times a year, so we aren't traditional tourists...we... more

Four of us stayed here for the Mardi Gras Marathon weekend (the weekend after Mardi Gras). What a perfect location! You are just two blocks from Jackson Square, two blocks from Bourbon St, and three blocks from the Outdoor Market. The hotel is in a quiet section, but plenty of restaurants and bars within a few blocks. This is an... more
