Honestly, I came back from NOLA with mixed feelings about this place. The hotel has a gorgeous lobby and a very trendy bar, where friendly and resourceful bartenders mix great cocktails. The hotel's staff was friendly and resourceful. The first room we got had the A/C broken (which in New Orleans' infamous Summers can be critical), and we were immediately... more

I was in town for the Essence Music Festival, but I now know I don't need a special reason to visit New Orleans. The room was great, the staff was courteous (really enjoyed chatting with the doorman, although I didn't get his name) and I now know where I'll be staying any time I'm in New Orleans. more

Hotel is not for the business traveler. No desk in room, lighting is poor. There was a fire alarm, maybe its all the candels burning in the lobby, and a fire door closed off my room and no one could open it for almost two hours. Gave me three drink tickets for my inconvenience. No restaurant a minus. Coffee and... more

Stayed at International House pre-Katrina and it was FABULOUS. Stayed for 5 nights for a conference which included the last weekend of Jazz Fest 2008 and was down-right disgusted. Mod hotels (worth $359/night - yes, that's right, was Jazz Fest) should be impeccably clean- it was NOT. Tiles cracked in elevators and foyer, walls need painting, one handle missing on... more

I got a great deal on this hotel - $79 a night, so I gave it a try - why not! I was very impressed by the quality of the hotel, especially for the price I got. It is literally about a minute or two walk and you're in the heart of the French Quarter area - GREAT! As for... more

International House's best asset is its location. Very central, but also off the main streets, so the rooms are relatively quiet. The big disadvantage is the lack of restaurant. more

I stayed here for a business covention. The property is unique, cute and trendy. The rooms are little dark, but other than that it was a nice stay. It was centrally located so we could walk to everywhere we needed to get to. I would definitely stay here again on a return trip. Try Le Phare bar down the street,... more

I called the hotel and got a rate of $119 (Plus $30 a night parking fee) for that price I would say the hotel was above average. I didn't have any problems checking in. The valet serviece was a little slow for the price, but its a busy street so you can't expect too much. The French Quarter is just... more

The room was not ready for check in when I arrived around 12:30pm--I had specifically requested for this several days in advance and the response was confirmatory. I was relegated to freshen up in the lobby restroom before heading out. While I appreciate the personal messages welcoming me later on, the first impression is important. They were prompt about unclogging... more

I had to stay in New Orleans for 3 nights during a conference, held at the Sheraton, which is just 50 yards away on Canal St. The Sheraton was almost twice as expensive, so I decided for the this one, and I am happy with my choice. The room was clean and perfectly adequate. I asked for a quiet room... more
