The Hyatt is about as central as you can get to be able to walk everywhere in downtown. The Burrard Station skytrain stop is across the street, shopping, restaurants, churches, even a hospital, all within a few blocks. Stanley Park about ten blocks up Georgia Street.
The hotel service was quite good, one waitress confused my breakfast order asking how I wanted my eggs when I didn't order any. But, otherwise good. The lounge was good, had a glass of wine and enjoyed a little live music and an elderly gentleman making great use of the dance floor. One hopes to be that young at heart. The food prices in the restaurant are ridiculous though, seventeen dollars for two eggs and sausage? The pancakes were maybe $14. Seriously now. Parking, Internet, most everything is extra and expensive here.
The room was nice, contemporary styling, LCD TV, nice desk area, good size bathroom. The bed however was a disappointment. It was hard and the sheets were itchy, even a couple of hairs which is gross. Hopefully they were clean. Everything else seemed to be. Nice full windows, okay view out my 27th floor window with a hint of the harbour in the background.
Encountered no problems with checking in or out. Nothing special, but decent. For the Priceline bid price I'd stay again, but I could do better for their asking price.
