After spending hours searching the web for a special hotel in Dublin, my husband and I were not disappointed. We were greeted like old friends by Kieran and given tea in the drawing room which was very welcome after flying in from the UK.
Our room was compact but beautiful, with lovely furnishings including a four poster bed. We didn't feel like anything was missing from the room, it was very clean and supplies of bottled water, bubble bath and towels were replaced every day. Breakfast was delicious with a huge choice and definately set you up for a day wandering around Dublin. The hotel is a little out of town, but the bonus of this is that it is quiet. One of the reasons for choosing this hotel was its close proximity to the RDS and we were not disappointed as it was only a relaxed 15 minute walk. Access into Dublin city centre was easy too. A 30 minute walk, a bus from the end of the road or the Dart railway which was 150 yards away and very cheap. The Airbus coach from Dublin airport stops at the end of the road and is a quick and cheap way to get to the hotel.
All the hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and we cannot praise the hotel manager, Cecilia, enough. We had a problem while we were there (not with the hotel) and she could not have done more to assist us.
Whilst in Dublin we recommend Blarneys Inn for a warm welcome and a good pint of Guiness and Quays Restaurant in Temple Bar for a lovely meal. The Bruce Springsteen concert we were in Dublin for was brilliant too!
