Stayed for the second time at the Four Seasons Bangkok and was again extremely impressed. The hotel is old, but wears it well, although some of the carpets could do with a replacement. Huge lobby, enormous numbers of staff darting about for you at all times of the day or night. Large rooms with huge beds, huge bathrooms and enormous flat-screen TV with attached DVD player.
Breakfast can be taken outside by the fish pools, which is a nice touch. The hotel itself is designed around open courtyards, which means that you open your room door, and you are already outside.
Only gripes are 1) to keep your room on your last day after 12:00 you are always charged a half-day rate and 2) the internet is incredibly expensive, at around 250 THB per hour or 700 THB per day. Pop across the road to the Siam Paragon (ground floor) for an internet cafe that charges 40 THB for 30 minutes, or try your luck with other hotels free wifi around the pool.
Note also that they are building new apartment blocks all around the hotel, so ask for a room facing the front to avoid the noise.
