Virginia city is a town full of colorful characters and hard working folks. There are several local theater groups performing at Piper's Opera House this coming year. The current schedule of events is as follows. The Red Rose musical production company took many of our local residents and reawakened their professional singing and acting pasts. Their musicals are a hoot and always end up benefitting some charity. This year they are helping youth and the reconstruction of the historic Piper's. Some of the people dress up to come see the show, knowing full well that the actors will appreciate it. And they do, they include the audience in their shows but not like Cirque de whatevers. You don't get pulled on to stage and made to do stupid stuff. Will Rose writes wonderful story songs which cause you to run the gamut of emotions. I feel that they are worthy of Broadway.
